There are many improvements for a person during the experience of therapy which can include addressing many issues that often do not fall under the umbrella of a mental health issue.

These issues can include reducing the effects of anger, improving ones mood or communication skills and improving the relationship with and feelings about oneself and improving interactions with other people in general.

In addition to this, sometimes people will enter therapy because of what some might call a 'mid-life crisis' where they are feeling the need for or making changes that sometimes do not sit well with other people and sometimes they do not even sit well with yourself either.

Loss and Grief are another aspect of what can be processed in therapy as we all suffer many losses in life and also experience change and sometimes we are forced from within, to make changes or adapt as our lives are taken along an unexpected path. We do not have to be struggling with bereavement to be affected by loss and loss doesn't always involve the death of someone.

Sleep issues can cause havoc with our feeling of wellbeing, and problems with sleep can make us feel ill and or depressed.
As an insomnia practitioner, I am able to work with you to see how your sleep can be improved which will have a positive effect on other life areas.
Of course stress can cause mental health difficulties but in many cases, people are managing so much and so well that it is often overlooked that actually, the person is not feeling very happy despite the feeling that they perhaps should be.

Other times people recognise that they are stressed and simply don't know what to do about it.
Counselling and Psychotherapy can help gain balance, reduce anxiety or low mood and increase coping skills.
